Dr. Muhamed Hamza , Psy.D. (USA)
Clinical Psychologist
Throughout my academic career, I have had the privilege of receiving advanced clinical training at several prestigious institutions, most within American Psychological Association (APA) accredited programs.
While formally trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Psychodynamic Therapy, and Family Systems approaches, I lean towards CBT and family systems modalities in my practice and take an integrative stance, using motivational interviewing techniques to meet clients where they are in order to support meaningful therapeutic change. I also sub-specialize in psychodiagnostic and psychoeducational evaluations. My diversified training has allowed me to develop strong skills in therapy, assessment, and consultation services, supporting individuals across the lifespan. Following the completion of my formal training, I worked within the private sectors in Maryland, Virginia, and Washington, D.C., delivering expert psychological care, guidance, and related services.
I stay engaged with emerging research, evidence-based practices, behavioral data sciences, and the evolving role of artificial intelligence in healthcare, and I enjoy incorporating relevant advancements into my practice. I strive for genuine, down-to-earth connections, firmly believing that the effectiveness of therapy is rooted in the strength of the therapeutic relationship.
Outside of my professional work, I enjoy traveling and connecting with people from diverse cultures, experiences that continue to enrich my understanding of cultural identity and competence in care. Like Erik Erikson, who emphasized the role of culture in shaping identity across the lifespan, I believe that truly effective psychological care must be culturally attuned and responsive to the lived experience of every client.
