About the Social Skills Program:
In this specialized program, children will embark on a journey to develop foundational social behaviors that support both their social and academic achievements. Through engaging in group activities and guided discussions, they will enhance their social skills and build positive interpersonal interactions.
Program Highlights:
Throughout the program, your child will:
- Develop foundational social interaction skills by learning to use appropriate facial expressions, and modulate voice volume and tone to enhance communication.
- Strengthen social initiation abilities through practicing greetings, introductions, joining group activities, giving and receiving compliments, and asking for help, fostering confidence in starting and maintaining social exchanges.
- Enhance social response and reciprocity by improving their ability to acknowledge others, follow directions, offer encouragement,
Suitable for:
This group is suitable for children ages 7 to 11 years old, who have been diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder ( ASD), and who experience challenges with social communication.
Kindly note, this program may not be suitable for children who require one-on-one support in a small group setting, or have severe nonverbal communication difficulties.
Program Dates, Timings & Structure:
Sessions for children will take place on Tuesdays, from 5pm - 6.30pm in-person at The LightHouse Arabia (821 Al Wasl Rd, Al Safa 2, Dubai).
6 Sessions:
- October 29th
- November 5th, 12th, 19th & 26th
- December 3rd
*Introduction to parents (Zoom): Tuesday, 22nd October
* Kindly note, spaces are limited for this group. A minimum of 6 children are required, and maximum of 8. Advance booking and payment will be required.
