Crisis in Sudan:Coping with Collective Grief and Emotional Pain (in Arabic)
This is a 45-min talk, followed by 15-mins for Q&A and discussion. It will be facilitated in Arabic.

- Collective Grief: Understanding how grief & trauma impacts the mind, body, and our worldview.
- Self-Care During Crisis: How to cope with the uncertainty and emotional pain.
- How to Support Others: Best practices for compassionate communication, including what to say and what not to say and, how to offer support for those who are distressed.

Dr. Summer Fakhro is a clinical psychologist from Bahrain who completed her training in the UK, and moved back to the Middle East in order to serve a region that she cares deeply about. With over 10 years of experience working with children, adolescents, adults and families, her expertise spans a range range of mental health difficulties, including developmental traumas, as well as anxiety, depression, and learning needs. She works closely with parents around supporting their children as well as supporting parental mental health. A frequent speaker in schools, organizations and across the broader community, Dr. Summer engages parents, students, teachers, teams and individuals across mental health and wellbeing topics. Her goal is for her work to increase people’s ability to access mental health services. As a specialist in family-based therapies and women’s mental health, Dr. Summer regularly contributes valuable insights and resources across social media platforms for The LightHouse Arabia, various collaborations and for media outlets.
